The key features
of our fastracq service are designed to provide significant cost
savings to the overall library budget:
- Your books arrive ready to be shelved (covered, labelled and security
tagged)
- Dawson is already attaching RFID tags to books in conformity with
the instructions provided by each customer. We have arranged with all
the major library RFID suppliers to obtain RFID programming units to
enable the writing of information to tags as part of the servicing process.
Libraries can therefore be assured that the programming equipment used
by Dawson is the same as that used within the library.
- They are accompanied by a high quality AACR2 catalogue record (MARC21,
UKMARC or UNIMARC)
- Spine labels are already fixed (Dewey or LC classification in your
chosen format)
The key advantages of fastracq
are:
- No cataloguing backlog
- Books reach end users faster
- Titles immediately available for viewing in the library OPAC
Systems used by libraries and already benefiting
from the Dawson fastracq service are Talis, Voyager, Horizon, Dynix, Geac
Advance, Aleph, Innopac, Millenium, Unicorn, BIBSYS and Heritage.
fastracq is a considerable addition to the Dawson service and contributes
to major savings in library cost. fastracq has a fifteen year
proven track record of providing this service and now has more than one
hundred clients for whom we generate 520,000 spine labels and 110,000
catalogue records each year.
