The Royal College of Nursing visit Foxhills House!

The team at Dawson Books were delighted to host our guests from The Royal College of Nursing on 16 February 2010.

Pictured (l-r) are Hazel Atlass, Elspeth Everitt, Alan Chalkley and Pauline Pickering with Dawson Operations Manager Wilf Muliner with some of the books that have arrived at Foxhills today. The library team from the RCN enjoyed a packed day of tours and talks, designed to illustrate the modern work practices and procedures that go into providing books for all our customers. A good day was had by all!

Dawson is accredited by the BIC

Following on from the e4books commendation, Dawson is now accredited by the BIC in 2010 for its work in the development of standards and tools for libraries in the electronic world.

Dawson wins accreditation from the BIC

Dawson continues the long line of awards received from BIC - Book Industry Communication with accreditation in 2010.

The e4books is a project initiated by BIC with the objective of encouraging wider use of e-commerce in the book trade. The key objective of e4books is to encourage the whole of the UK book industry to be trading electronically and Dawson Books has been a pioneer in this important field for many years. Savonia University of Applied Sciences visits Dawson!

Journeying all the way to Foxhills House from Finland is Aila Korhonen of Savonia University of Applied Sciences. Aila spent a day at Foxhills, discovering how our services work and meeting the team that look after her library. A most productive day for all of us.

Copenhagen University Library Information Service are the latest guests at Foxhills House!

Honoured guests indeed - Henriette Fog (centre) and Henne Sonne Henriksen (right) from CULIS - Copenhagen University Library and Information Service visited Foxhills House on 23 November.

Pictured with Dawson Operations Manager Wilf Muliner in the Foxhills 'Good in' department, Henriette and Henne are inspecting the facilities of Foxhills and visiting the team who will now supply Copenhagen University and the Royal Library of Denmark with their books.

Bradford College visit Foxhills House!

Pictured above are the team from the Library of Bradford College who paid a visit to Foxhills House.

From left to right in the photograph we have Deborah Duffy, Hayley Atkinson and Kauser Rauf, all from Bradford College. In the right foreground, Wafaa Hurt and right background, Laura McLuckie, both of the Customer Team at Dawson Books who were showing our guests the finer points of their account at Dawson.

A lovely day was had by all with our guests experiencing the hospitality of Dawson Books. Our guests met many of the team that work so hard on their behalf at Foxhills House.

The International Committee of the Red Cross visit Dawson Books!

Honoured guests visiting Foxhills. Jean-Paul Lucot and Véronique Ziegenhagen of the ICRC are pictured with Laura McLuckie (seated), Dawson Customer Team Supervisor. Jean-Paul and Véronique gave us a fascinating insight into the workings of ICRC across the globe and the information requirements of the organisation. The team at Foxhills were happy to show them both the skills and facilities that make Dawson Books the complete and integrated international book supplier.

 

University of Bath visit Foxhills House!

Wilf Muliner, Operations Manager at Dawson Books is pictured with Claire Tylee and Katrin Flemming (right) from the Library at University of Bath. Touring Foxhills was both interesting and educational for Claire and Katrin and all the team at Foxhills were delighted to host our guests. A most enjoyable day for all!
