| Linköping University Library visits Dawson Books!
On 15 May Dawson Books hosted guests from Linköping University Library! Above we have our 3 guests plus Wilf Muliner - Operations Manager and Jean Burridge - Book Passer. The guests were able to see first hand how books arrive at Foxhills House and how Book Passers like Jean match orders to the stock that has arrived.
Our Scandinavian friends visit Dawson Books!
On 8 May Dawson Books was proud to host dignitaries from Uppsala University Library, Sweden and Kuopio University, Finland. David Harling - Dawson Sales Area Manager for Scandinavia is shown at the front of the picture. David is flanked by (l-r) Marika Wirkner Markedahl (Uppsala), Jukka Kananen and Anu Eskelinen (both of Kuopio) and Anette Weyde and Kerstin Herelius - both of Uppsala. All enjoyed an informative day that looked at the latest developments at Dawson Books, our Standing Orders supply, dawsonera - our ebook platform and our Servicing team. It was a pleasure to host such charming guests! Our friends from The University of Sheffield visit Dawson Books!

dawsonera Roadshow at York St John University! Thursday 27 March For the final dawsonera Roadshow we visited York St John University. Below we see our expectant audience who were treated to George introducing the team and the dawsonera platform, followed by Jude's now famous presentation and live demonstration.

dawsonera Roadshow at University of Aberdeen! Wednesday 19 March The turn of Scotland again to host a Roadshow and this time it was at The University of Aberdeen. The picture below shows the view from our venue - the Old Town House, located in the charming heart of old Aberdeen.
Our audience enjoyed the dawsonera presentation given by Claire Chandler who outlined the development of dawsonera and its subsequent launch and then went on to explore the many attributes of this eBook service. The first picture below shows our audience in attentive mood! Below that we see Steven Welch introducing Claire Chandler and (out of shot taking the picture) Area Sales Manager for Scotland, Sally Barber.
A very enjoyable and informative day was had by all!

Friday 14 March The University of Leeds played generous host to us on Friday! Delegates from far and wide visited this fine university! Below Jude Norris is shown introducing and informing her audience about dawsonera.
After a very fine lunch the dawsonera team were lucky enough to be given an escorted behind the scenes look at the Brotherton Library at the University of Leeds by Steve Sharp who is SABER Team Leader at the University. The picture below shows the opulence of this magnificent facility. Bearing a striking resemblence to the Hamlyn Library at the British Museum, the Brotherton Library was a gift to the University of Leeds from Lord Brotherton of Wakefield. The Library is also home to the Brotherton Collection, one of the finest collections of rare books and orginal manuscripts in the country.
Thanks to Steve Sharp for his help on the day! Glasgow Caledonian University - our latest dawsonera Roadshow! Monday 10 March It was Glasgow's turn to host the dawsonera Roadshow and another grouping of customers enjoyed the presentation!
St. Catherine's College, Oxford - our latest dawsonera Roadshow! Wednesday 5 March Another enthralled audience - this time at St. Catherine's College, in the heart of Oxford.
Our team - George Hammond, Jude Norris, Cheryl Fellows and Claire Chandler presented in the charming surroundings the Arumugam Suite of St. Catherine's. The team report that lunch at St. Catherine's was excellent! London South Bank - our largest dawsonera Roadshow! Tuesday 26 February Over 70 of our customers attended the dawsonera Roadshow, held at the Keyworth Centre at London South Bank University.

dawsonera - an eBook tonic for all! Pictured below is Karen Coles demonstrating dawsonera for the team at The Royal Society of Medicine. Karen - our eBook Service Trainer and George Hammond - Sales Manager gave three demonstrations throughout the day on 14 February. Reporting back today Karen tells us that dawsonera was very well received by an enthusiastic audience. Karen and George also visited Thames Valley University the day before to carry out a similar demonstration.

Dawson continues the long line of awards received from BIC with a commendation in 2008.
The e4books is a project initiated by BIC with the objective of encouraging wider use of e-commerce in the book trade. Its key objective is to encourage the whole of the UK book industry to be trading electronically by 1 May 2008, which they have named 'e-day'! The e4books website is a resource for all those in the book industry who want to find out about supply chain e-commerce: how to go about it, what it will cost and what the benefits are for you. The University of Hertfordshire visits Dawson Books!
Part of the Library Team from University of Hertfordshire visited Dawson Books on 12 February 2008. The team at University of Hertfordshire enjoy a close relationship with their friends at Dawson Books as it is always good to be able to introduce our facilities and give our visitors a chance to see the workings of a modern book supplier. The University of Lincoln visits Dawson Books!
The Library Team from University of Lincoln visited Dawson Books on 31 January 2008. The Lincoln team met everyone at Foxhills House and enjoyed our traditional and informative tour of the facilities.

It was an informative and fun packed day for our guests who were introduced to the team and saw the facilities at Foxhills House close up and learning about dawsonera - our eBook platform and our plans for 2008. University College Birmingham is the new name for Birmingham College of Food, Tourism and Creative Studies. UCB has 8,300 students at two sites in the city, studying a range of vocational and higher education management courses. dawsonera Roadshows Bringing the eBook platform to a University near you! During December and through to March Dawson Books are demonstrating dawsonera - our eBook platform at 15 Universities in the UK and Eire. We have now had the pleasure of meeting many of you at the four Roadshows that have so far taken place:
Feedback has been tremendous - many have told us that they have learnt so much about this innovative and exciting platform. The dawsonera team enjoyed presenting and responding to questions and showing how the multiple attributes of dawsonera can be applied in the library. As with the Dawson Days, the lunch is vital part of the proceedings and this didn't dissapoint!
