Buckinghamshire New University visit Dawson Books!
Our latest guests at Foxhills House are the Library team of Buckinghamshire New University. The team are pictured here in our Goods In Department on their tour hosted by Richard Adams our Deputy Operations Manager (in Black) and our new member of our Sales Team Andy Soanes (in suit at back).
Kingston University at Foxhills House!
The library team of Kingston University visited Foxhills House on 8 June. The team is pictured alongside their very own shelf where their orders are placed before they are serviced. At the back of the picture are Dawson stalwarts George Hammond (left) and Wilf Mulliner. UKSG Thank you to everyone who visited the Dawson Books stand at UKSG. We certainly found it to be an excellent conference. During UKSG Dawson Books held a Prize Draw. The winner of our bottle of Champagne was Wendy Walker of University of Glasgow. Our winners of a lovely box of chocolates each was Mari Aaltonen of Aalto University, Finland and Jon Purcell of Durham University. Congratulations to all three winners and your prizes are in the post.
Middlesex University visit Dawson Books!
Our latest guests at Foxhills House are the Library team from Middlesex University. Enjoying the usual Dawson hospitality of fine refreshment, good conversation and excellent work practices and demonstrations, the team enjoyed their day. The Royal College of Nursing visit Foxhills House!
The team at Dawson Books were delighted to host our guests from The Royal College of Nursing on 16 February 2010. Pictured (l-r) are Hazel Atlass, Elspeth Everitt, Alan Chalkley and Pauline Pickering with Dawson Operations Manager Wilf Muliner with some of the books that have arrived at Foxhills today. The library team from the RCN enjoyed a packed day of tours and talks, designed to illustrate the modern work practices and procedures that go into providing books for all our customers. A good day was had by all! Dawson is accredited by the BIC
Following on from the e4books commendation, Dawson is now accredited by the BIC in 2010 for its work in the development of standards and tools for libraries in the electronic world. Dawson wins accreditation from the BIC
Dawson continues the long line of awards received from BIC - Book Industry Communication with accreditation in 2010.
The e4books is a project initiated by BIC with the objective of encouraging wider use of e-commerce in the book trade. The key objective of e4books is to encourage the whole of the UK book industry to be trading electronically and Dawson Books has been a pioneer in this important field for many years. Journeying all the way to Foxhills House from Finland is Aila Korhonen of Savonia University of Applied Sciences. Aila spent a day at Foxhills, discovering how our services work and meeting the team that look after her library. A most productive day for all of us.
