We are delighted to announce the addition of a substantial number of ebooks from one of the world’s leading university presses – MIT Press. With its origins in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT Press is now an independent entity that still follows the precepts of its founders by specialising in books on leading edge and topical scientific subjects.
MIT Press has long focussed on the rapid developments in artificial intelligence and the computing sciences. Neuroscience and linguistics are also important areas of publishing, as are design and architecture. Most recently global economics and environmental science have come to the fore.
MIT Press has long had a roster of high calibre authors, including Nobel Laureates. This year’s winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics are past MIT Press authors and Winner of the 2009 Nobel Prize for Medicine, Elizabeth Blackburn, has her Story of Telomeres available as an ebook on dawsonera.
Of all the American university presses, MIT Press has the widest international appeal and Dawson already supplies substantial numbers of its printed books to our library customers across the globe. It is, therefore, particularly gratifying to be able to supplement our existing offering with the addition of 500 MIT Press ebooks. These are now available for purchase from dawsonera with more expected in the near future.
