Dawson Books currently employs 200 people at its UK headquarters. Many employees have long service with Dawson and have consequently built up a wealth of experience invaluable to the company’s objectives.

Paul Whittingham, Commercial Director
Paul joined Dawson Books from Dawson Holdings eight years ago. His role covers the financial side of the business including commercial relationships and also involves close liaison with the Dawson companies in France, Spain and the US.

Alan Benton, Operations Director
With 23 years experience at Dawson, Alan has been instrumental not only in developing the automation that underpins the Total Book Management service at Dawson, but has also helped shape much of the technological developments which have been adopted elsewhere in the book trade.

Alan is a keen golfer (and if it is to be believed, a rather good one!) and a proud Tottenham Hotspur Football Club supporter as well as father to two daughters.

George Hammond, Sales Manager
George left teaching to join Dawson over 30 years ago and now manages a talented sales team who travel far and wide. He has played an active part in the evolution of Dawson’s services and converses with customers from a highly informed standpoint. In his spare time George likes nothing better than a challenging climb or white water rafting, but is more likely to find himself acting as taxi driver to five children.

Wilf Mulliner, Operations Manager
Wilf is responsible for the welfare of a large team of 100 working in the areas of Book Servicing, Collating and Invoicing and brings substantial logistics industry experience to the role. When he has time Wilf enjoys Rugby as a keen Northampton Saints fan and gets muddy on his Mountain Bike to keep fit so he can pursue his first love - mountaineering!

Tina Atterbury, Business Support Manager
Having been with Dawson for 29 years, Tina has worked in many different departments and has risen through the ranks to manage a team of 16 staff who provide customer service, bibliographic research, order entry and urgent fulfilment to our library customers.

Sally Barber, Area Sales Manager
With 19 years service, Sally is a lynch pin in the Sales Team - taking the responsibility of visiting our clients in her Sales areas of Scotland, the North of England, Cambridge and Scandinavia. Like all members of the Sales Team she works closely with the Customer Team to give the highest standard of customer care. Sally is a keen supporter of her local rugby team - Northampton Saints.

Mark Huskisson, Business Development Manager
Our latest recruit, Mark joined Dawson in March 2008. Bringing huge experience of the book world, having previously worked at Cambridge University Press for 12 years, Mark was most recently at YBP Library Services in the UK as the Sales and Development Director. Mark's exceptional knowledge of the publishing supply chain and the needs of the global library community will be used to help drive Dawson forwards in this exciting time of development for the company.

Mark enjoys sport, travelling, films and reading yet says that he ends up digging his wife's allotment and eating the produce. Father to three children, Mark also is a keen supporter of Notts County Football Club - a factor not lost on our Marketing Manager Steven Welch who follows close rivals Nottingham Forest Football Club!

Jude Norris, eBooks Sales and Marketing Manager

Jude has 10 years industry experience in publishing and has been instrumental in the development and launch of dawsonera. Most recently implementing Shibboleth across Access Management Federations worldwide, and working with libraries to develop a range of innovative solutions that exploit ebooks to their best advantage. Jude has been recently promoted to this position.

In her spare time Jude has a keen interest in music and likes to catch up with the latest art house films at the cinema.

Heather Sherman, Service Development Manager
Heather heads the Bibliographic Services Team. She works as part of the Dawson team to inform and educate Dawson customers in an exciting period of enhancement at the company. A Chartered Librarian, Heather previously worked at the University of Hertfordshire, most recently as Systems and Applications Manager and in 2004 was recognised by her librarian peers with the award for 'Extraordinary Service to the Voyager Users Group'.

Mark Howard, Content Manager
Mark is a well respected figure in the information industry with 30 years experience working with libraries, publishers and database hosts. Mark has been at Dawson Books for 7 years and now heads up the team introducing dawsonera - the new eBooks service from Dawson Books. Having trained as a scientist, he is fully able to comprehend the value of scholarly publications and the uses to which they are put and is able to bring this to the eBooks arena.

Steven Welch, Marketing Manager
Working closely with all parts of the company, Steven upholds the external image of the company in all areas, enjoys responsibility for promotional activities including the famous Dawson Days and the design and development of the company marketing, promotional and sales literature. He is also responsible for the content of this website and for the external image of the company in the media.

Steven is a Chartered Marketer and has worked all his career in marketing and promotions and has been part of the Dawson team for 9 years. Like Wilf, he is into mountain biking and uniquely in Dawson Books, he supports Nottingham Forest Football Club!
